Last year, with part of the takings of the Maratona, we helped dig wells in Africa.
This year, we have asked the GMM (Gruppo Missionario Merano) to suggest another project to finance.
This is the proposal: to bring woods back to the mountains in Latin America. The project consists of the reforestation of some hectares of mountainous land in the Sierra of Ecuador (Andes),which over the centuries have been cleared with negative consequences for the environment and for man. The reforestation, by the Operation Mato Grosso in collaboration with the GMM (Gruppo Missionario Merano), is carried out by involving the youngsters in the mountain villages.
